DRESSED: Meet the Creative Director, Alexia Winfield

First, I'd like to introduce you to Alexia Winfield, the creative director behind DRESSED!

Her Story:

Originally from the sunshine state of Florida, Alexia came to Columbus, Ohio from undergrad to embark on a career in Banking Finance at a large Financial institution in town. As she started her career in Banking, she couldn’t deny her love for fashion and style. Her and a colleague shared a similar interest in thrifting and consignment and they launched an on-line store called FashionRedeemd.com, on-line vintage for women and men. They also opened a storage/personal shopping space downtown for their customers to shop privately. Alexia was recently recognized by Columbus Alive as they spotlighted her style and fashion finds. Coming to a city she knew little about or knew no one, she has expanded her network and is growing a presence in Columbus.

Occupations and organizations:

By day, Alexia is a Product Manager in Banking/Finance, and in the evenings until the wee hours of the morning she is adding to her business strategy and creative direction portfolio.

What inspires you? I get inspired by the littlest of things. As I drove down the road yesterday I was inspired by this electricity infrastructure off of the highway.

What events do you have planned for 2014? More DRESSED! Lol. More Privilege events. Fashion Meets Music Festival.

What would you like to see happen for Columbus in the next 3 years? I would like to see more life downtown, more presence from the fashion headquarters (i.e. Flagship stores downtown, Preview and Exclusives to upcoming lines via a fashion show), and creative folks like Azmara getting national exposure. There is so much talent in Columbus, we need to be in the forefront of Fashion and art.

What do you enjoy doing around the city? Eating. Meeting and connecting with people here.

How did you get involved with DRESSED? I really admired Azmara’s need to create outside of the box. When she told me about the piece I was adamant about having an event and sharing her piece with the world and hopefully inspire someone else. I'm so impressed by her work ethic and her attention to detail.
